STOP DROP ROBOT: LAY IT ON ME

November 3, 2014

STOP DROP ROBOT: LAY IT ON ME

Lay It On Me by Stop Drop Robot is a powerful song, that describes the escalation of violence, in a troubled relationship; yet it seems to place no judgement, of it’s own.

Lay It On Me is refreshing to hear. It aims straight to the heart of the matter and masters the feelings of desperation, anguish and pain, felt in a physically volatile relationship. Violence in relationships is a universal theme.

Violence is a sensitive subject to broach, but Stop Drop Robot knocks confidently on the door of this difficult subject and opens wide, this usually secretive scenario, with tremendous ease. I found myself empowered, listening to Lay It On Me and strangely comforted.

I felt safe enough, to reflect on my own history, of being victim. I felt even safer, to dig deeper and reflect on the times, when I was the one, who caused physical and emotional damage, to others. No one is completely safe from violence. It can happen when least expected or it can be seen coming a mile away.

Whatever your story is, it is my hope that the song, Lay It On Me, will thaw your heart and make you feel strong and loved again. Stop Drop Robot lays it on the line, with their electrically charged song, Lay It On Me. It took some time to nail these words, but with the help of frontman, Sam Christie, here are the lyrics to Lay It On Me!

LAY IT ON ME by STOP DROP ROBOT

1000 bars could not describe the high
yes I see stars
if I gaze to long
into your eyes I say

1000 bars could not contain me
yes I see stars
when you lay it on me

when you lay it on me
with your hands

Recorded and mixed by: Nathan Bailey

Written by: Sam Christie, Matt Ross, Nathan Bailey and Dan Battye
